Day 1 : January 6, 2025

Putting Christ Back at the Center

Devotional:

In the bustling landscape of our daily lives, it's easy to allow various distractions to occupy the center of our affections. Career, relationships, personal ambitions, or even well-intentioned ministry activities can subtly shift our focus away from Christ. Today's devotional challenges us to conduct a spiritual inventory: What currently sits at the center of your heart?

Christ isn't meant to be a peripheral character in our story, but the main character who gives meaning to every scene. Just as He was central in creation, He should be central in our personal narratives. Reflect on the areas where you've perhaps unconsciously pushed Him to the sidelines. Is it fear? Comfort? Personal achievements?

True transformation begins when we deliberately reorient our lives, placing Christ back at the absolute center. This isn't about perfection, but about intentional alignment. Every thought, decision, and action can be filtered through the lens of His purpose and love.

Scripture:

Colossians 1:17 - "And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together."

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, forgive me for the times I've allowed other things to occupy the throne of my heart. Today, I recommit myself to you. Be the center, be the focus, be the driving force of my life. Realign my priorities and help me see everything through your perspective.

Call to Action:

Create a simple visual representation of your life - perhaps a wheel or a diagram. Mark where Christ is currently positioned. Then, intentionally redraw it with Christ at the absolute center. Spend 10-15 minutes in prayer, asking God to help you make this a daily reality.
